Todos os processos de PVD reativos s\u00e3o baseados na evapora\u00e7\u00e3o e ioniza\u00e7\u00e3o de um metal que reage com um g\u00e1s ionizado, formando os comp\u00f3sitos cer\u00e2micos que se depositam no substrato em forma de revestimento. Os comp\u00f3sitos cer\u00e2micos t\u00eam durezas mais elevadas e coeficientes de atrito mais baixos do que os metais.<\/p>

Este metal \u00e9 polarizado. Para qu\u00ea? Para direcionar os i\u00f5es e formar o comp\u00f3sito bem aderido \u00e0 superf\u00edcie do substrato.<\/p>

Esta temperatura elevada faz com que s\u00f3 se possa revestir carboneto cimentado (metal duro) por HF CVD. A ativa\u00e7\u00e3o dos precursores e a sua reatividade ocorrem em temperaturas inferiores a 200\u00baC com a ajuda de uma diferen\u00e7a de potencial entre as pe\u00e7as e as paredes do reator.
