FLUBETECH, S.L. is working on the development of a new R&D project, INNOAEM, in collaboration with Nordex Electrolyzers, S.L. and Talleres Auxiliares Arania, S.L., which has received funding from IDAE through the “Segunda Convocatoria de programa de incentivos 4: retos de investigación básica-fundamental, pilotos innovadores y la formación en tecnologías habilitadoras clave dentro de los programas de incentivos a la cadena de valor innovadora y de conocimiento del hidrógeno renovable, en el marco del «Plan de Recuperación, Transformación y Resiliencia – Financiado por la Unión Europea– NextGenerationEU»”.
In this project, we will investigate AEM electrolysis technology to achieve a global improvement in operational performance compared to the results obtained so far with conventional alkaline electrolysis technology, eliminating the need for a highly corrosive liquid electrolyte (32% KOH solution) while maintaining low manufacturing costs. A 5 kW AEM electrolysis prototype will be developed, capable of improving the operational performance achieved today with conventional alkaline electrolysis technology. In fact, to date, there are no references to individual stacks exceeding 2 kW, making this project a global innovation that will accelerate the development of AEM technology, particularly aimed at its use under fluctuating conditions to work with wind energy.
